    Dive deep into many local marine ecosystems including salt ponds, beach dunes, and underwater mud and sand flats.  Try your luck at fishing and crabbing as you interpret environmental signs to find the best places to catch these wild animals!  Get an exciting introduction to kayaking.

    Choose Your Own Adventure (PM Session, 1 pm -  4 pm)

    Options include: fishing, kayaking, and snorkel adventures

    Take part in this outdoor adventure as you and your classmates choose from activities like kayaking, orienteering, snorkeling, marine science field excursions, fishing and more! Learn the basics of choosing your adventure based on weather, wind, waves, navigation and local history while exploring Long Island Sound.          $215

    Marine Detectives  (AM Session, 9 am - 12 pm)

    Includes: microscopes, kayaking and snorkel adventures

    Animals that live in and around the water do amazing things that only a true detective will be able to discover. Use microscopes and magnifying glasses to try to use the clues to crack the code of these outrageous animals that live in the salt water all around you. Capers include water phenomena, wind and weather, ocean animals, and microscopic investigations.          $215
     
  • Week 4 (July 13-17)

    Animal Kids (AM Session, 9 am - 12 pm)

    Animal young have special adaptations that help them survive. Look into these special abilities as you investigate mammals, marsupials, reptiles, and different planktonic animals. Learn about the names of all different kinds of animal babies, kids, moms, and dads. Use microscopes to get closer looks at many young ocean animals.

    Habitat Treks  (PM Session, 1 pm - 4 pm)

    Includes: fishing, crabbing kayaking, and snorkel adventures  

    Dive deep into many local marine ecosystems including the sandy beach, the salt marsh, estuaries, and underwater mud and sand flats. Try your luck at fishing and crabbing as you interpret environmental signs to find the best places to catch these wild animals!        $215

     Ancient Creatures     (PM Session, 1 pm - 4 pm)

    Includes: Creating your own ancient creature, kayaking and snorkeling

    Dinosaurs, sharks, and even horseshoe crabs roamed the Earth millions of years ago. Many mysterious ancient creatures swam in the oceans or lumbered around on land. Look into the past as you discover what animals lived in our area and what animals remain from our prehistoric past.          $215
     
  • Week 8:  August 10 - 14

    Aquarium Phenomena (AM Session, 9 am - 12 pm)

    Includes: aquarium care, kayak trips, and snorkel adventures

    Discover the scientific phenomena behind creating a healthy aquarium system. As a team, decide what organisms will reside in your tank, venture into the field to catch your species, record animal behavior, and be imaginative in creating the habitat. Test dissolved oxygen, pH, salinity, and temperature levels as you care for your aquarium and ensure a safe environment.          $215
     
  • Marine Animal Art (grades K-4)

    Fridays 4:00 – 5:30 pm ~ April 10, 24 & May 1

    Cost: $60/series     Minimum 6 students

    Create beautiful art inspired by the ocean.  Learn about the ocean animals as you create marine themed sun catchers, explore the ancient art of gyotaku, and build an paint cardboard sea animals to display
