  • Caine's Arcade Challenge (All Ages)

    Enrollment: minimum 6 students

    Cost: $80

    Follow in 9 year old Caine’s footsteps as you build your own arcade games out of cardboard, recycled materials, and creativity.  Work as a team to design, build, and play your games.  Gain inspiration from Caine’s Arcade website and prepare for the Global Cardboard Challenge of 2016.

  • Swell Squad (Ages 10-13)

    July 5-8, 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm  $190/week

    Includes: a taste of surfing, boogie boarding, stand up paddleboarding, kayaks, snorkel adventures, playing in the salt pond & the ocean   

    Join the Swell Squad as you harness the energy of the ocean swell while traversing the local waters on water craft including stand up paddle boards, kayaks, boogie boards and even surfboards. Relate adventures to estuary science, hydrodynamics, swell formation, and animal habitats.

  • Aquarium Phenomena (Ages 8-12)

    Wednesdays   9:00 am-12:00 pm

    October 5, 12 & 19

    Enrollment: minimum 6 students

    Cost: $120

    Discover the scientific phenomena behind creating a healthy aquarium system.  As a team, decide what organisms will reside in your tank, venture into the field to catch your species, record animal behavior, and be imaginative in creating the habitat.  Test dissolved oxygen, pH, salinity, and temperature levels as you care for your aquarium and ensure a safe environment.

  • Animals of the Ice (Grades K-4)

    Thursdays 4:00-5:30        January 7, 14, 21 & 28

    Enrollment: minimum 6 students

    Cost: $80

    Penguins, Walruses, Polar Bears, Whales, and many more animals love the winter!  Do you?  Discover some of the amazing adaptations animals have to survive in freezing conditions.  Simulate penguins holding eggs, experiment with the color of polar bear fur and skin, investigate the warmth of blubber, and learn more about the animals who thrive in the ice.

    This year NESS will have RC Laser Sailboats for students to learn a bit more about sailing.   Yup its what you think...RC stands for Remote Control Laser Sailboat!   Students will sail these boats while learning a new topic about sailing each week.

    The Breeze & The Seas (AM Session, 9 am - 12 pm)

    Learn all about the breeze and the seas as you take command of a vessel with kayaking, a taste of sailing, and a windsurf simulation.  Discover how breezes occur, experiment with the power of wind by creating a wind powered vessel, and find out what types of plants and animals rely on strong winds and high seas.  Includes: taste of sailing, kayaking, boat trip, & snorkeling

    Dr. Seuss Ocean Adventures (AM Session, 9 am - 12 pm)

    Follow a new tale with the characters from Dr. Suess in the books Wish for a Fish, Hark a Shark, A Whale of a Tale, The Tooth Book, & The Lorax.  Perform experiments, hold animals, use microscopes, and investigate artifacts based around the books. Some of the safe places you will go will be in kayaks and on stand-up paddle boards.

    NESS has recently added seven new programs to their adult sailing line-up. Courses are for ages 16 and older and are offered Saturdays through Thursdays.
