  • Friday, March 25th (Grades 5-8)

    NESS Game Show Competition (AM Session, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm)   Cost: $40    Minimum 6 students

    Structure Engineering (PM Session, 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm) Cost: $40    Minimum 6 students

    NESS Game Show Competition  Compete in two different game shows to test your knowledge of science.  At the end, try to stump the NESS scientists by creating your own game show and questions.   

    Structure Engineering Create structural marvels with everyday items!  Build a bridge made out of straws that can hold a full can of soda, build a tower that can hold a golf ball out of newspaper and tape, and finally create a walk-way made out of paper cups that you can stand on without crushing the cups.

    Enrollment: minimum 10 students

    Cost: $65

    Take a peek into a dark world where animals use light to communicate and discover bioluminescence.  Investigate how angler fish, fireflies and comb jellies make light, create your own bioluminescent animals, and discover just how tricky it can be to live in a completely darkened environment.  

    Registration due: November 30th

    Use the Rube Goldberg philosophy to plan, create, and build new contraptions in the outdoors.  Experiment with the Rube Goldberg design process, create a new feeding method for the aquarium animals, make a safe animal catching device, and create your own apparatus that can function in the outdoors. 
    Includes: Engineering, boat trips, & snorkel adventures

    Explore the world of chemistry by making four different potions! Make a mess like never before and see what happens when you add baking soda to vinegar, make your own slime, explore and concoct “elephant toothpaste”, and experiment with bubbles!
