    Science by Sail (PM Session, 1 pm - 4 pm)

    Travel to field sites by sail boat to experience the ultimate in marine science and sailing adventure. Learn rigging, sail handling, steering and other basics while in route on a 23ft Sonar keelboat. Perform water quality assessments, experiment with air and hydrodynamics, employ navigation skills, snorkel, explore, and have lots of fun using a Sonar as our marine science headquarters. Includes: sailing, marine science, and snorkel adventures.


  • Week 10 (Aug. 24-28)

    Micro Meteorologists (PM Session, 1 pm - 4 pm)

    Weather is an amazing and sometimes mysterious thing. Spend time exploring and experimenting with weather and how it causes changes to the ocean and its animals. Perform different weather experiments, learn how wind makes waves, and look at how local animals deal with different weather and water.


  • Boards & Biology (Ages 10-13)

    July 27 – July 31,  Mon-Fri 1:00 - 4:00 pm       $190/week

    Includes: taste of surfing, kayaking, boogie boarding, and snorkel adventures

    Learn how the fascination of science relates to the fun filled adventures of kayaking, boogie boarding, and a small taste of surfing.  Link science concepts of wind & wave formation, beach dynamics, and animal structure and function to these fun adventurous sports.
  • Week 8:  Aug 10 - 14

    Choose Your Own Adventure (PM Session, 1 pm -  4 pm)

    Options include: fishing, kayaking, and snorkel adventures

    Take part in this outdoor adventure as you and your classmates choose from activities like kayaking, orienteering, snorkeling, marine science field excursions, fishing and more! Learn the basics of choosing your adventure based on weather, wind, waves, navigation and local history while exploring Long Island Sound.          $215
  • Week 2:  June 29-July 3

    Ocean Animal Olympics  (PM Session, 1 pm - 4 pm)

    Includes: Animal Olympic games to test for agility and survival, kayaking and snorkeling

    Compete in Ocean Animal Olympics! Learn about different animals and compete in challenges that simulate the attributes of the organisms from our underwater ecosystems. Explore the uses of antennae, claws, and beaks. Feel what it is like to be a marine mammal, compare running speed to a cheetah, and jumping ability to a kangaroo.          $215
  • Week 2 (June 29-July 3)

    Sea Safari (AM Session, 9 am - 12 pm)

    Go on a sea safari to discover an array of animals that depend on the sea! Learn about birds, salmon, eels, sharks, and more. Investigate the incredible journeys some animals make from fresh water to salt water. Take a kayak journey and boat excursion into the bay to get up close to wildlife.

    Includes: 1 boat trip aboard the Dodson’s Launch.


  • Week 3 (July 6-10)

    Aquariums & Terrariums (PM Session, 1 pm - 4 pm)

    Work in teams to create marine and terrestrial habitats for land and sea creatures. Learn all about what animals need to survive like food, water, and shelter. Take part in all mini-ecosystem care including feeding your animals, cleaning, and performing aquarium and terrarium tests to make sure your habitat is perfect for your plants and animals.


  • Week 6 (July 27-31)

    Amphibious Aquanauts (PM Session, 1 pm - 4 pm)

    Impersonate the amazing amphibious animals of our world while keeping your skin wet with many water adventures. Get a taste of stand-up paddle boarding, surfing safely in the harbor, and snorkeling in shallow water. Examine the connection that frogs, toads, newts, and salamanders have with water as well as their incredible metamorphic abilities.


  • Week 2 (June 29-July 3)

    Dynamic Earth (PM Session, 1 pm - 4 pm)

    The earth is constantly changing and moving. Most of the time we don’t even notice unless there is a big change! Discover how coastlines and islands were formed, experiment with how water moves through sediment, and explore the science of hurricanes and how they affect the coastline. Go kayaking, snorkeling, and boogie boarding to become one with our dynamic Earth! Includes: boogie boarding, kayaking, boat trips and snorkel adventures.


  • Week 3 (July 6-10)

    Animals Extreme (PM Session, 1 pm - 4 pm)

    Animals come in all shapes and sizes. Enter the strange, but true realm of symbiotic relationships, bizarre deep sea creatures, arthropods, colonial organisms, and animals living in other extreme habitats. Research and go into the field to look for some the strangest creatures on our planet. Use microscopes, look at preserved and live specimens, and dissect a strange fish. Includes: microscopes, boat trips, and snorkel adventures.
