  • Keelboat Adventures (ages 8-12)

    Beginner Level - Keelboat Adventures is a perfect fit for those kids who want to learn to sail on bigger boats. Our 23 foot Sonar will take these students all over Fishers Island Sound. A NESS instructor will be onboard while students learn how to work as a team to get this boat cruising. This class will cover the basics of rigging, steering and navigating this larger platform all while having fun.
     
  • Bic's & Hartleys (ages 9-12)

    Pre-requisites: Opti Learn to Sail or Second Taste of Opti

    Intermediate Level - Our Learn to Bic class will introduce students who have already taken one of our taste or learn to sail classes how to sail another type of boat.     The O’pen Bic is a fast planning boat that allows students to feel the need for speed at an early age.   Designed specifically for kids, the O’pen BIC is a true glide machine for real excitement on the water.

  • Surfing (Ages 11-17)

    Includes: surfing & boat rides    $310/week

    Feel the rush of surfing your first wave, riding down the line, shredding the gnar, or honing your surf skills.  Immerse yourself in this incredible sport and gain ocean safety knowledge, confidence, board riding ability and marine environmental awareness through our progressive instruction.  Travel by boat to hunt for beach breaks in safe coastal waters of Rhode Island.  Have fun, surf with friends, and generate a love of the ocean and surfing.

  • Paddle Treks (ages 11-17)

    Includes: snorkeling & kayaking    $220/week

    Paddle and explore Little Narragansett Bay during the best months of the year.  Kayak to estuaries, coves, islands, and other places where power boats are not able to go.  Snorkel the warm waters of the harbor and the bay, while learning about local ecosystems and the species that inhabit them. No previous kayaking experience is necessary, but an interest in the ocean, snorkeling, and kayaking is a must for this adventure week.

  • Hartley 12 Level 2 (ages 10-16)

    Pre-requisites, Level 2: Hartley 12 Level 1

    Beginner Level -Take the next step in the sport of sailing with this Hartley level 2 class.   A perfect continuation from the Hartley level 1 class or a great fit for those who want to work on their basic sailing techniques.   The Hartley 12 is fast to rig and easy to sail meaning more time on the water practicing and refining your sailing skills.

  • Second Taste (ages 7-11)

    Pre-requisites: Taste of Optis
    Beginner Level -The Second Taste is meant to build upon the foundation of sailing skills built while your student was in the Taste of Optis program.   Take the next step in the “Taste of” process and add another week long program to reinforce parts of the boat, the sailing lingo, and overall comfort on the water.   This class uses both the Opti Trainer and Optimist dinghy as students are guided to sail on their own by the end of the week.

     
  • Simply Sailing:  Hartley & 420  (ages 11-16)

    Monday – Friday, 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm           $285/week

    June 22-26; June 29-July 3; July 6-10; July 13-17; July 20-24; July 27-31; Aug 3-7; Aug 10-14; Aug 17-21.

    Let's go Sailing....Grab a partner or sail solo in this exciting class designed to get kids on the water as quickly as possible.    This class is the perfect opportunity for students who know how to sail, who want to get out there, to simply go sailing.   Students are introduced to more advanced sailing techniques, basic navigation and will work on improving their overall comfort with sailing around Stonington Harbor and Fishers Island Sound. 420's and the new Hartley 12 will be the choice of boats for this class.

    Splash into the world of aquaculture and hydroponics by helping to weigh and measure fish, using microscopes to look at plant root growth, and engineering new structures for plant growth.  In teams set up an aquarium to start your own mini aquaponics system complete with animals, plants, and algae.
