As a service to the nautical community and to advance its educational mission, NESS contacted SailFlow last year to install a wind station and anemometer on the #4 Navigation Aid on the Stonington Harbor Outer Breakwater.

We are pleased to say the station went live on April 16th.  Solar powered, SailFlow’s newest wind station provides real time wind data, forecasting, and history for the Stonington Harbor area.  This service is beneficial to all marine enthusiasts from sailors to kayakers and becomes one of the many tools NESS captains and instructor teams employ to maintain safe vessel operations for our water-based programs.  Check out SailFlow’s real time wind data on their website and (soon) in NESS’s front window at 72 Water Street.

Thank you SailFlow for providing this useful wind station to all boaters visiting the Stonington Harbor area!
