Drew Buttner and I just finished racing the last four days in Annapolis, Maryland, for the 505 North American Championships. This was a great event that was stacked with the best of the best in North America.

Despite falling short of our goal of a Top 3 finish, we are happy to take home 6th place overall. In challenging conditions for all the teams, we struggled with our tactics but were able to use our boat speed to keep us in the game. Finishing in the Top 2 this year were two former world champions with the current number 2 world champs finishing in 3rd. Drew and I feel we have what it takes to compete on the world stage but know we have to keep practicing and work hard. The last event of the season for us will be the High Performance Dinghy Open (HPDO) next month before the boat gets tucked away for the winter.
